The 4C's of Diamond

Before investing in a diamond, it is extremely essential to learn to be sure you are getting what you pay for. You should always be able to explore your options with any jeweller while choosing your stone.

When searching for your perfect diamond, there are four categories to consider...

  • Cut

  • Clarity

  • Colour

  • Carat Weight

These 4 C's set up a grading system that determines the quality and price of your stone.

At Jewelariaa.com, we can help you find your perfect #diamondjewellery within your budget.

Let's dig in deep and learn more about these four components.

CUT

An expertly cut diamond... its perfect shape and aligned facets...is what makes it sparkle. It describes the finish, proportion, and polish of the diamond. These are the major factors that determine the fire and brilliance of a diamond. This is the only component not influenced by nature and is the most important among the 4 C's. Diamond cuts are graded as Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, and Poor by GIA.

At Jewelariaa, we meticulously hand-select all our diamonds, assessing them individually by eye. We make sure to keep the best pieces even if they are used for pressure setting. We only use Excellent, Very Good & Good cut diamonds for all our jewellery.

CLARITY

#Clarity measures the purity of the diamond and the presence or absence of tiny flaws. The clearer or more flaw-free the diamond, the more brilliant and valuable it becomes.

Internal flaws are referred to as inclusions, while external ones are called blemishes. The GIA grading scale rates diamonds from Flawless (FL) to Included (I).

At Jewelariaa, we only select white diamonds up until grade VS2. This means that their inclusions are invisible to the naked eye but they are only visible under magnification.

COLOUR

From white to warm whites with hints of yellow, diamonds receive a grade for the amount of color they contain. They occur in a variety of shades and are categorized as either white - truly colorless, which is extremely rare - or fancy. Diamonds are graded on a scale of 23 shades from White D which is colorless to Yellowish Z which is a Light Colour.

At Jewelariaa.com, we look at the color grade of a white diamond as an indication of its rarity rather than a statement of its suitability.

CARAT

A diamond's mass or weight is measured in carats where one diamond carat is equivalent to 200 milligrams (converts to 0.2 grams). Naturally, the larger the carat, the more valuable the diamond. Carat by itself does not affect a #diamond's value. Two diamonds of equal #carat weight may have different values based on the other factors.

At Jewelariaa.com, we always cut for maximum beauty and not for weight so be sure to get your beautiful and perfect diamond with us.

Before choosing your #DiamondJewellery, do make sure you have a comprehensive understanding of diamonds.
